The Town of Wallkill’s proximity to I-84 and the future I-86 have lead to an increase in development. WSP SELLS performed an independent review of the proposed traffic studies and mitigation measures in an area where there were over 1,100 proposed development projects. WSP SELLS also prepared detailed accident analysis and evaluation of the roadway conditions on each of the roadway corridors affected by the increased level of vehicular traffic. The study identified several improvements that would enable the roadway network to operate at an acceptable level of service, while addressing the contributing factors to the existing high accident locations.
