Bronx Approach Replacement

WSP SELLS, as part of a joint venture, is preparing construction documents for replacement of the Bronx Approach to the Bronx Whitestone Bridge. Estimated at over $136 million, the existing 18-span, 1,825 ft. long structure will be replaced with a new 15-span bridge designed to meet heavier loading conditions. With an Average ADT of over 125,000 vehicles per day, construction staging is being designed to assure three lanes are maintained in the peak direction and toll plaza operations are not affected by the pavement reconstruction.
