2005 NYSSPE Project of the Year

FOR THE INTERCHANGE 8 RECONSTRUCTION

The New York State Society of Professional Engineering awarded the Interchange 8 Team the 2005 Project of the Year award. The largest capital project in New York State Thruway Authority's history, the Interchange 8 project has a total construction cost of $165 million. The I-287 Cross Westchester Expressway is the primary East/West roadway in Westchester County, New York connecting to the I-87 North/South NYS Thruway at Interchange 8. With an ADT of over 120,000 vehicles, WSP SELLS was responsible for the design of four new/replacement bridges including the design of 14 retaining walls.
